Foday Bojang is a well-known birding guide in The Gambia. He has been organizing and leading birding and photography tours since 2005. He was born and raised in Pirang village which is a well- known birding hotspot for most visitors visiting The Gambia. He got his keen interest in birding and wildlife at a very young age. This passion and love for nature led to him coordinating young people in his village to do tree planting every year in Pirang Forest Park. By planting trees every year, this kind gesture by Foday will enable the forest to be preserved for generations to come.

Foday’s interest in birds and nature led him to talk to his partner, who founded The Gambia Birding Experience, and they built a photography hide in the forest. All income from this hide is ploughed back into the forest to safeguard the premises and most importantly, prevent the region from deforestation.

Due to his experience in birding and wide knowledge in the field, Foday was given the position of Assistant Social Secretary of The Gambia Bird Guide Association (an organisation that represents the interests of almost all birdwatchers in The Gambia) from 2012 to 2016. Then, through his merit and dedication, he was promoted to Social secretary from 2016 to 2022. Moreover, Foday is a co- founder of Gambia Birding Experience, a ground handler of the company and the Operational Manager of Fatou Tours Gambia.
